Trauma Recovery Center Grant Questions and Answers

September 20, 2013

1. Can you please give guidance regarding if and/or how the department would like applicants to address how they will meet evaluation requirements within the CALIFORNIA TRAUMA RECOVERY CENTER GRANT application narrative?

The NOFA does not require evaluation requirements, but requires evaluation protocols within the reporting requirements. The applicant must determine how Item 9, Reporting Requirements (page 5) will be addressed.

2. Under Section 9, Reporting Requirements, you provide a comprehensive list of reporting requirements. While we collect most of this information on a regular basis, some of the requirements (i.e., Evaluation protocol to assess the effectiveness of the clinical intervention program across a spectrum of outcome domains, including decreased psychological symptoms, medical symptoms, disability and improved overall quality of life; Evaluation of the clinical effectiveness of services; Evaluation of the cost effectiveness of services) require more intensive evaluation.

The applicant must determine how Item 9, Reporting Requirements (page 5) will be addressed.

3.Under Section 7, Eligible Costs, "evaluation costs" is not listed as an eligible cost. Do you expect applicants to pay for these activities and/or can they be included in the grant request?

Yes, evaluation costs can be included in the grant application. Review the information contained in Item 7, Eligible Costs (page 4) of the NOFA for additional information.
